The Little Black Dress - Audrey Hepburn in "Breakfast at Tiffany's"
Felt tip ink on paper

Original felt tip design sketch of Audrey Hepburn in Breakfast at Tiffany's, showing her in her iconic black dress and holding a long cigarette, on a white 4 x 5.75 card, signed and inscribed to the lower right, "To Hans Jordan, Hubert de Givenchy." In very fine condition. A brilliant original sketch which is unmistakably the 'little black dress' Givenchy designed for actress Audrey Hepburn in the classic 1961 romantic comedy, the dress which has been voted the most iconic movie dress in the history of cinema.  We could find no record of a signed Givenchy drawing of his most famous design having appeared on the market.

The French aristocrat and fashion designer founded The House of Givenchy in 1952 and is celebrated in particular for having designed much of the personal and professional wardrobe of Audrey Hepburn, as well as clothing for clients such as Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy. He was named to the International Best Dressed List Hall of Fame in 1970.

"Hubert de Givenchy was that rare designer whose work reached everyone from fashion aficionados to the casual observer. It defined an era. It helped to create the foundation for what it means to be a fashion icon. His work told the story of glamorous sophistication, female rebellion and the complexities of beauty and desire.  He achieved this remarkable feat with a single little black satin dress worn by Audrey Hepburn in the opening sequence of 1961’s “Breakfast at Tiffany’s.” From the front, the dress was simple enough: sleek and sleeveless with a flattering bateau neckline. From the back, it was dynamic, sexy and utterly sophisticated with its geometric cutouts and the alluring way it framed the nape of the neck.  That moment in that dress tells the audience a lot about Hepburn’s character, Holly Golightly. For one thing, it’s a cocktail dress — an evening dress — and there she is standing on the street peering into the store window with her breakfast. She has been out all night and she does not look wrecked. In fact, she looks splendid.  The dress is not easy to wear. It follows the curves of the body. It reveals the arms. But it’s not a dress that constrains a woman. It requires effort but not sacrifice. The dress is special. It makes a woman want to slink about, controlled and teasing. It’s possible to envision it on all sorts of shapes — slim, like Hepburn, but also curvy. And it looks as perfect in 2018 as it did 50 years ago.  Givenchy didn’t invent the little black dress, but he gave it its enduring cachet. He infused it with meaning beyond the practical and versatile. The dress represented a lifestyle: glamorous, reckless, defiant, urbane. It was Holly Golightly’s dress. She was complicated and sad, confounding and charming. She was not Everywoman. She was exceptional, which is what every woman wants to be.  And her signature dress was wondrous." (Robin Givhan, "What Givenchy knew before the rest of us about the power of a little black dress," Washington Post, 3/12/18)

Aliens: Know what to expect!
Format: Audiobook
This is a really fun review of Earth's obsession with alien life, what we have historically expected of aliens--and what they might expect of us. If you are a long-time listener of the author or a viewer of his YouTube show (Star Talk), you have probably heard much of what NDT has to say on this subject already--here and there as he picks his way thru the universe, but why not listen to him now again as he focuses his energies on just this alien subject? If you want an enjoyable read, it will be worth your time. If you're not a long-time listener of NDT... and you have any interest in aliens at all, then you DEFINITELY should give this book a go. It is full of thoughtful insights from a man who has devoted his life to the science and 'cultural impact' of the stars. I listened to the Audible version wherein NDT reads his own book aloud for you. His efforts really allow you to gain his insights... And his strong sense of humor--in equal doses. 5 Stars

My son is actually motivated to do a workbook
Format: Paperback
My Kindergartener finished homeschool online early and we have been doing a page a day and he loves it and loves to earn a sticker after each day and put it on his chart. I love how engaging the workbook is and how it introduces some 1st grade concepts. Would highly recommend.

Excellent Summer Workbooks - Keeps Kids Engaged and Ready
Format: Paperback
These workbooks have been an absolute lifesaver for keeping my kids on track over the summer! I was looking for a resource that would help them retain what they learned and prepare for the next school year without feeling like a chore, and these deliver perfectly. What I particularly love is how well **organized they are by days**. This structure eliminates any guesswork and makes it incredibly easy to assign manageable chunks of work each day, which helps to **keep my kids consistently on track**. There's no overwhelm, just steady progress. The content is engaging, and it genuinely seems to reinforce key concepts in a fun way. We've had **absolutely no complaints** from the kids, which is a huge win for any summer learning material! I highly recommend these workbooks for any parent looking for a structured and effective way to bridge the academic gap during the summer break.

Fun for my Kindergarteners!
Format: Paperback
This activity book is a fantastic, age-appropriate resource that makes summer learning both fun and effective for Kindergarteners transitioning to 1st grade! The pages are thoughtfully designed with easy-to-follow activities that keep young minds engaged while reinforcing essential skills. The addition of flashcards, stickers, and eBooks takes the learning experience to the next level, making practice feel like playtime. One of my favorite features is the encouragement of hands-on learning and movement through exciting fitness challenges—because learning shouldn't just be about worksheets! It turns what could be a boring review into an adventure filled with creativity and energy. This workbook truly helps bridge the summer gap while keeping kids motivated and excited for the next school year. A must-have for any little learner’s summer routine!
