It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage

This romantic vintage red velvet dress was custom-made in the late 1930s (possibly early 1940s), and is entirely one-of-a-kind. The maxi-length crushed red velvet is so rich. It features a gathered empire waist, with long tailored sleeves that come to a point at the cuff. It was reworked and modernized around the 1970s, with a zipper added in the back, making it easier to wear. Because of the empire waist, this can also be an incredible vintage maternity dress. Closes in the back with a zipper.

The Antique Victorian Heart Locket pictured is also available. 

Measurements: This will best fit a size X-Small, Small and possibly Medium; please refer to below measurements. It is smaller through the shoulders and chest, with more flexibility through the waist and hips.
Chest: 37"
Empire waist/underbust: about 29", gathering offers some forgiveness there
Hips are open up to 45"
Length: 53"


Good vintage condition overall; there were some repairs made to the fabric at the bottom skirt towards hem. Although this has nothing to do with the product, it arrived a day later than previously stated. Making me have to create a makeshift room divider the day it was actually needed. When the product arrived it arrived in a box that showed no evidence of damage. Once opened, divider was found inside a plastic cover. Great protector for dust or scratching. The divider was fully assembled so there was nothing for me to do but remove it from packaging and use it where needed. After further inspection the divider was not only cheap and flimsy looking it was absolutely unstable. It would wobble and appears to have been assembled in a rush making some panels crooked. I noted significant damage to the bottom portion of some of the panels both front and back. It does not feel like an item worth the price. The color is as advertised and the product had no smell. The sizing was accurate.
