Antique Jallayeh Palestinian Wedding Dress

Fabric: Feels like linen with area of silk, both woven and embroidered.

Features: This Palestinian wedding gown features many classic elements found on these garments. The dress features beautiful embroidery at the yoke and sides, and is appliqued down the front. The sleeves feature bands of different fabrics and flare out towards the end. The garment is entirely hand sewn, including the embroidery and applique. Most of the fabrics appear as they have been colored with natural vegetable dyes. This is an antique garment with a rich history.

Condition: In very good condition with some flaws. I chose not to clean it, it seemed wise to leave that to someone more familiar with handling this type of garment.

It has faint marks on many of the silk taffeta panels on the sleeves and front but they are hard to notice. I have found a small hole on each sleeve, one the size of a pin head and the other is about the size of a pencil eraser, I included a picture of the largest. There are some watermarks on one sleeves and a light brown smudge on the other. The sleeve cuffs and tassels are a little dirty. Otherwise in excellent condition, it presents beautifully. I've photographed the flaws but I can only include a few pictures in this listing, please message me for more detailed pictures.
