Common Name: Fuzzy Navel / Domino Cactus
Echinopsis subdenudata, affectionately known as the Fuzzy Navel or Domino Cactus, is a charming, globe-shaped species native to Bolivia. Its smooth, deep green body is dotted with fuzzy white areoles that resemble tiny snowballs—hence the nickname “Domino.” Unlike many other Echinopsis, this variety has minimal to no visible spines, making it a fantastic choice for both beginner collectors and families with curious hands.
What truly sets this cactus apart is its spectacular flowering habit. Mature plants produce large, night-blooming white flowers with a delicate fragrance, often as big as the cactus itself! With proper care, blooms can occur multiple times each season.
☀ Light Requirements
Prefers bright, indirect sun to light shade. Too much direct sun can cause sunburn, especially in hot climates. Indoors, place near an east- or south-facing window.
💧 Watering Needs
Water thoroughly when the soil is dry. Reduce watering in winter or during dormancy. Always use a well-draining cactus mix and avoid letting it sit in moisture.
🌡 Temperature Tolerance
Hardy to about 25–30°F in dry conditions. Protect from frost and excessive cold. For winter shipping, we recommend adding a [Heat Pack].
