Turquoise Jewelry Like You Have Never Seen Before

Introducing the Turquoise Lily Blossom Pendant by Skylar Glandon. This unique and exuberant piece of jewelry is unlike any other Skylar has created. It could be described as a jewelry sculpture, instead of simply an accessory.

The pendant showcases a blooming lily blossom with a beautiful Kingman turquoise stone at its center. This stone features a beautiful golden matrix with playful blue spots, making this stone fun and unusual. In fact, because this is genuine American turquoise, you will never see another stone exactly the same. Its vibrant color contrasts perfectly with the substantial silver in this pendant, adding a striking pop of color.

Creating this lily blossom was a difficult feat. The flower comprises eight sterling silver petals, each engraved and cold forged into realistic shapes. Extensive hammering was necessary to achieve the blooming outward shape and the delicate anticlastic bend of the petals' sides. On the reverse side, you'll find an additional layer of blooming silver, elegantly connecting to the stem. Setting the turquoise stone within this flower posed a unique challenge, as it required careful consideration of the curved silver layers and the connecting stem, unlike traditional flat stone settings.

The flower connects to a heavy silver wire stem, which gracefully bends upward, eventually forming a loop for the chain. Shaping this wire was labor-intensive, requiring forceful bending with special tools. The addition of two hand-cut leaves with engraved veins and a silver stem soldered down the middle helps balance the pendant visually and keeps it securely in place when worn. These leaves, like the flower petals, are forged into a three-dimensional shape, enhancing the pendant's lifelike appearance.

Express your love for summer with the Turquoise Lily Blossom Pendant by Skylar Glandon. Its eye-catching and unusual design ensures that you will own a truly unique piece of jewelry. The pendant's creation involved complex planning and imagination, the hallmarks of great handmade jewelry.

This turquoise pendant is large and showy, with leaves spanning over four inches in width and a total length of four inches. Its impressive size makes it a showstopper, perfect for drawing attention. As the centerpiece of your outfit, it will be the first thing people notice when you walk into a room.

This book was a game changer for me…
Format: Paperback
I’ve attempted college twice. On my first attempt I ended up with a 1.8 GPA which resulted in academic probation and a fair amount of tears. I took an almost ten year long hiatus thinking college wasn’t for me before trying again. Except this second time I knew I had to do something different, and that’s when I picked up this book. On my second attempt I ended up with a 3.9 GPA upon graduation and also felt I didn’t have to work myself to the bone to get those grades. I found the chapters on note taking and time management to be particularly useful. While it’s true that my success also had to do with some maturity I had gained over ten years, this book gave me the tools and a system that helped me immensely. It not only helped me academically, but taught me how to “work smarter, not harder.” In short, get the book. You won’t regret spending the money on it.

A Test of a Young Girl's Faith
Barakah Beats is the debut novel of author Maleeha Siddiqui. It is the story of Nimra, a 12-year-old Pakistani Muslim who is transitioning from a private Islamic school to an American public school. It deals with many traditional problems children starting middle school face—self-esteem, fitting in, and making friends. What adds an extra layer of tension to this novel is the religious aspect. Nimra memorized the Qur'an at her private school and wants to maintain her Muslim identity while also fitting into her new school. Nimra has previously had a friendship with Jenna, an American girl she thought was her close friend. Jenna seems to treat Nimra differently at school, and Nimra decides she wants to find a way to earn back Jenna's friendship. Some eighth-grade Muslim boys at her school have a music group called Barakah Beats. They befriend Nimra after they discover she is a talented singer. Nimra becomes a celebrity around campus, and Jenna suddenly wants to be friends with her again. One of the interesting dilemmas Nimra faces is that she's not sure her family will approve of her interest in music. While Nimra likes the boys and the attention she gets from Jenna and her friends, her real passion is drawing and becoming an artist. Nimra is not forthcoming and honest with the boy and her parents, and her guilt becomes too much to manage. I enjoyed the read and empathized with Nimra's difficult situation wanting to fit in. Siddiqui's book raises interesting questions about how challenging it can be for children with other ethnic, cultural, and religious differences to find their place in American society while maintaining their identity.

muslim girl joins boy band
Format: Hardcover
I got this book for my daughter to read, her review is what follows: Barakah beats is the perfect book for any Muslim in middle or high school to read. I felt connected to the story not many have been able to reach. She goes through what I felt as a Muslim in school, journey is like viewing my experiences through the eyes of someone else. Namira Sharif joins up with a boy band through an unexpected invitation to join them. This is where I feel she finds more about her own beliefs, some Muslims believe music is haram and others believe it the opposite. She finds her own opinions based on her journey, she makes difficult decisions and new friends as the outcome. Overall this book is an excellent read and I don't really have many complaints about it. I don't have much to compare it to since there aren't a lot of books published with Muslims portrayed in such a way. A When Barakah Beat was given to me I nearly jumped for joy seeing a new book written by a Muslim author. Namira does not run from her faith but always tries to remember it, even when she joins the band to win her best friend back. The book hits all the markers when talking about personal values, beliefs, family, and culture, a sweet and relatable read for anyone Muslim girl with a middle school experience. Be warned though once you start you won't be able to stop till you realize you're staring at the back of the book and there are no more words to read.
