DESCRIPTION

We acquired this variety from Southern California, and it was originally imported from South Asia. The photos shown are of our mother plants; your cuttings may vary in appearance.

The last photo is our mother plant and is not for sale. You will receive the plant in the first 2 photos and the video

Worth Lime Variegated becomes more vibrant with increased sun exposure—but be cautious not to burn the plant. Use shade cloth for protection unless you are in a tropical climate.

Cuttings are made to order and may range from 12–15 inches or 18–22 inches, depending on availability. Please note that variegated plants take longer to root and grow, so patience is required.

Mayumi Garden recommends this variety only for experienced growers. We are not responsible if buyers are unable to root the cuttings or keep the plant alive. If purchasing cuttings, please understand that extra care and patience are needed. Alternatively, we offer grafted or rooted plants for those who prefer a more established option.

Policies

By purchasing cuttings, grafted, or rooted plants from our shop, buyers agree to the following terms, along with our general shop policies:

  • Once the plant leaves our care, we have no control over the shipping process or its condition upon arrival.
  • If the package is lost or damaged, it is the buyer’s responsibility to file a claim with USPS. All packages are insured up to $100, and additional insurance can be purchased upon request.
  • These grafts are well-established and securely connected to their rootstock. However, if they break due to rough handling during transit, it is also the buyer’s responsibility to file a claim with USPS.
  • Mayumi Garden does not offer refunds or exchanges in these cases.

This plant is non-returnable and non-refundable.

Planting Instructions:

Upon receiving your package, it is crucial to gradually acclimate both cuttings and rooted plants to their new environment.

For Cuttings:

  • Allow 4-7 days for the cutting’s end to dry and callus before planting to prevent rotting.
  • Disinfect the cutting’s end before planting, especially in cooler temperatures, using organic GrowSafe.
  • Keep the cutting in the shade until fully rooted, checking for resistance when gently tugged.
  • New growth may appear before rooting is complete; double-check before assuming it is rooted.
  • Once rooted, gradually introduce the cutting to partial sun, then to full sun, avoiding direct sunlight initially.

For Rooted Plants:

  • Gradually acclimate the plant to partial sun, followed by full sun over 1-2 weeks.
  • In hot areas (above 95°F), use a 30-40% shade cloth to prevent sunburn.
  • Be cautious of heat reflected off cemented areas, which can harm the plant.

Growing Conditions:

  • Dragon fruit thrives in tropical and subtropical climates (e.g., Hawaii, Florida, Southern California).
  • In less favorable climates, protect younger plants during extreme weather with a greenhouse in winter and shade cloth in summer. Mature plants (3+ years old) can withstand more extreme conditions but may still need winter protection below 30°F.

Soil & Watering:

  • Use well-draining soil, starting with a cactus mix. Once familiar with the growing process, you can customize the soil mix with perlite, chicken manure, potting soil, and compost.
  • Dragon fruit loves full sun but requires protection in extremely hot conditions.
  • Water during the hot season when the top 2 inches of soil are dry. Avoid waterlogging to prevent root rot. In colder temperatures, water sparingly, with no watering needed in winter unless grown in a greenhouse.

Fertilization:

  • Apply chicken manure monthly during the growing season. Fish fertilizer is an alternative, though it may produce an odor.
  • Use a bloom booster on mature plants to stimulate bud production.

DAMN, this is a great book!
Format: Hardcover
All history books should be this detailed, this readable, this humane. Lepore knows how to write about a horrible, nearly forgotten episode in NYC history. Unlike many historians, she steps away from overt politics or raw emotion. She knows that this subject is too serious to be shouted. It is the rare history book that is packed with facts as well as knowledge. I felt like Lepore was taking my hand and leading me through the smelly streets of lower Manhattan in 1741, like I could almost see the faces of...what were they, anyway? The victims of a horrible hoax? The demented planners of a plot to burn the city? Or something in between, where thieves can also be the keepers of ancient rites from a distant homeland, where the world is turned upside down? I could go on and on, but just buy the book!

New York Burning
Format: Paperback
. This is an important book that explores in depth what is usually only found in textbooks as a one-sentence summation: "In 1741 there was a slave uprising in New York City." Scholars will probably be happier starting with the Appendix and bibliography and then reading the book. The text is disorganized and uneven, and although this is non-fiction, the characters could have been more finely drawn. Peter Zenger's trail keeps popping up in unexpected places, often disconnected from the action the author is working on. Some sections are heavy on primary documents and period writings, others are more poetic. Yes, I do understand the parallels with the Salem Witch Trials. The Salem Witch Trials get more press today because of Arthur Miller's "Crucible." Color and religion of the participants aside, both events are stories of group think and mass hysteria, fear and anger. There is plenty of room here for a first-class film or play to be written. Read this book, learn from it. Expect to complain about it. Kim Burdick Stanton, DE

What You Didn't Know
Format: Paperback
Did you know that if you were a Catholic Priest on the streets of New York in 1747 that you'd be arrested and hung! Great book if you're interested in the times during which our founding Fathers were growing up. It'll give you a different concept on how slavery was different in NYC as opposed to in the South, and how many of the streets in NYC got there names from English magistrates. If you like history, especially of NYC, you'll love this book.

Affordable and gets the job done
Format: Paperback
This is a great book. It gets the job done. It's clear and concise about the important concepts. The authors really edit the cases so that only the important and relevant stuff without the other fluff. I think that this book is better than other expensive textbooks. I don't think anyone didn't love this book. 100% would encourage professors to assign this book.
